Hiring: Civil Contracts Manager

The Civil Contracts Manager will manage the civil/construction contracts process for new and ongoing projects, working proactively with the Project Managers. In addition to taking the lead in reviewing, developing and providing support for the tendering administration process, this position will be responsible for contract compliance, claims management, ordering and procuring materials and ensuring all internal financial reporting actions are actioned.


The Civil Contracts Manager will also be pivotal in acting as a conduit between the Project Managers and Finance Team.

Position Duties

Main duties will consist of but not be limited to:

•    Project contract management
•    Ensuring compliance with contractual documentation timeframes
•    Managing project claims and approvals
•    Managing retentions and bank guarantees
•    Assisting with tender documentation and submissions
•    Managing tendering schedule to match resource availability
•    Measuring financial performance of projects through KPIs
•    Planning and co-ordinating administrative procedures
•    Monthly forecasting of revenue and accruals
•    Responsibility for the smooth and accurate flow of information to the Finance team and the Executive.
•    Ensuring all accounts payable invoices are approved in a timely manner
•    Managing the ordering and procurement of materials
•    Participating in monthly analysis of profit and loss reports
•    Developing and implementing new systems
•    Other duties as required


Selection Criteria

Essential
•    Demonstrated experience working in civil construction industry
•    Proven experience in claims and/or contract management
•    Demonstrated ability to build and manage strong relationships with a range of stakeholders including project managers, Finance, Executive and external parties.
•    Proactive in approach with the ability to manage stakeholders and drive outcomes.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability
to communicate confidently internal and external stakeholders
•    Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team, showing initiative, flexibility, and leadership skills
•    Well-developed organisational skills, excellent time management skills and techniques, with the ability to prioritise numerous and various requests
•    Proven attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and see tasks through to completion
•    Drive for continuous improvement with a positive approach to change
•    Proficient in MS Office suite with a strong working knowledge of Excel
•    Australian citizen or a full unrestricted work permit / visa for Australia

Desirable
•    Cert IV in Contracts Administration or related field
•    Experience in tender compilation.
•    Experience working with/in a complex organisational structure
